Como en todas las películas de Hollywood que son éxito de taquilla, los extraterrestres hablan inglés. Es increíble pero cierto. Ellos siempre (con la excepción de películas como District 9) atacan Estados Unidos, así que, el asunto del idioma tiene sentido. ¿Cómo vamos a negociar nuestra libertad o suplicar clemencia si no hablamos inglés?

As we’ve seen in almost every Hollywood blockbuster, aliens speak English. It’s amazing but true. They always (with the exception of films like District 9) attack the USA as well, so I guess the language thing makes sense.
So tell me, how are you going to negotiate our freedom or beg for clemency if you don’t speak English?

Muchas personas van a Estados Unidos solo de compras (recordá que en Black Friday mucha gente de Latinoamérica va a Estados Unidos para conseguir buenas ofertas). Esto es por el hecho de que Estados Unidos es el hogar del capitalismo y tiene gran variedad de cosas y precios más bajos que algunos países de Latinoamérica. (¿En serio como es esto posible?)
Parece que la única opción para estar al último grito de la moda en ropa y tecnología, es comprar un tiquete aéreo e ir a la tierra de Obama, Hollywood y los perros calientes.
Shopping
A lot of people visit the USA just to go shopping (think about Black Friday and all the people from Latin America who visit the US just to get some good deals). This is partly down to the fact that the USA is the home of capitalism and has huge variety and much lower prices than Latin America (seriously, how is that possible?).
It looks like your only option for the latest fashion and technology, at the best prices, is to buy yourself an airline ticket and visit the land of Obama, Hollywood and hot dogs.

Aunque hay mucha música grandiosa en español, las bandas más grandes, grupos o cantantes más populares publican su música en inglés, inclusive cantantes latinos como Shakira y Marc Anthony.
Así que, si en tus planes está seguir los pasos de grupos como Sabbath y Guns N’ Roses, o convertirte en el siguiente Justin Bieber o Ariana Grande, para hacer mucho dinero viajando alrededor del mundo, vas a necesitar hablar inglés.

Although there is some wonderful music recorded in Spanish, the biggest bands, groups and singers release music in English, even those from Latin America (e.g. Shakira, Marc Anthony, etc.)
So, if you want to become the next Black Sabbath, Guns N’ Roses, Justin Bieber or Ariana Grande, and make a lot of money touring the world, you’re going to need English.

Seamos honestos, a nadie le gusta recibir platillos que no ordenaron en un restaurante, pero pasa mucho cuando la gente viaja. Esto podría ser tan inofensivo como ordenar una pizza de pepperoni en Italia y que te lleven una pizza con chiles, no de pepperoni o salami. (Pepperoni en italiano significa chile dulce, pepperoni/pepper esto se conoce como false friend.)
Por cosas como estas la traducción podría perderse, y nadie quiere recibir tripas, insectos o cualquier alimento inusual, siempre es mejor saber que dice el menú.
Esperamos que estén hambrientos de aprender inglés, o perderán el apetito la próxima vez que ordenen comida local en sus vacaciones.
To Understand Menus
Let’s be honest, no one likes getting food in a restaurant that they didn’t order, but it happens a lot when people travel. This could be something harmless, such as ordering a pepperoni pizza in Italy and getting a pizza with peppers, not pepperoni/salami. (Pepperoni means peppers in Italian and this is known as a false friend.)
Because things sometimes get lost in translation and nobody wants to get served tripe, insects or anything unusual, it’s always best to know what menus say.
